
IFS Professional Memberships
The IFS offers professional membership for people who work in the financial services industry.
There are four grades of membership available to individuals and organisations:
Member
All that is required for this grade of membership is that the applicant works in the financial services industry.
Associate
This grade of membership is for people who have:
- worked in the financial services industry for at least two years;
- completed an IFS course eg a Certificate IV in Financial Services or Diploma of Financial Services; or
- other professional qualifications relevant to the financial services industry.
An Associate of the IFS may use the letters "AIFS" to denote their membership status.
Fellow
This is our highest grade of personal membership and applies for people who have either:
- been an Associate member of the IFS for more than 5 years and have attained substantial work experience during that time; OR
- have relevant qualifications for the financial services industry and are employed in a senior position in the industry.
A Fellow of the IFS may use the letters “FIFS” to denote their membership status.
Corporate
Any financial services organisation or organisation associated with, or supporting the financial services industry can apply for Corporate membership.
Benefits of IFS Membership
Membership entitles individuals and organisations to the following:
- A laminated certificate displaying your membership status.
- Associates and Fellows can use letters after their name - AIFS and FIFS.
- IFS publications – Course Handbooks, Student Achievement Reports and Annual Reports.
- Notification of discounted financial services conferences and forums throughout the year with the chance to win a ‘free pass’ to attend.
- Invitations to IFS functions eg breakfast meetings, sundowners, and dinners (available in Perth and Adelaide) as well as an annual golf day in Perth.
